DESCRIPTION:One of Douglas County's most valuable assets is its strong industry base\, and success in economic development lies substantially in a trained\, skilled workforce.  Since achieving the Work Ready Community status\, we have continued to work towards building a strong workforce.  Go Build Georgia falls under the Governor's Office of Workforce Development and is a statewide campaign to promote the current and future demand for construction trades. Go Build Douglas which has been recognized by the Atlanta Regional Commission as a pilot program for other communities is a local version focusing more on STEM and industrial maintenance career pathways.  Quarterly HR Seminars are offered free to members. Targeted towards HR Managers and staff and led by top local labor attorney's\, the seminars provide credit hours for HR certification or re-certification and work to build open communication with industry leaders to address any issues or training needs they may have.
