Common Ground Community Dinner: Understanding the Impact Unconscious Bias
DINNER TOPIC: Understanding the Impact Unconscious Bias
Thursday Jun 23, 2022
TBD
Exploring how unconscious bias impacts our community, workplace, and business.
Unconscious bias can significantly influence one’s behaviors and attitudes, resulting in inequitable practices and treatment of others. These biases are often influenced by our background, personal experiences, culture, and societal stereotypes.
Join the DC Chamber and special guests Phyllis and Eugene Unterschuetz for an engaging and powerful conversation on the impact of unconscious bias. The Unterschuetz are diversity trainers and authors who have traveled throughout the United States, speaking about racial unity and the oneness of humanity. They have given public talks and conducted classes and workshops for universities, neighborhood groups, civic organizations, and religious gatherings. Phyllis and Gene are currently sharing their personal stories of racial healing from their book The Longing: Stories of Racial Healing with diverse audiences around the country.
Dinner conversation will be facilitated by Julia Areh, DC Chamber Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.
