Senior Equipment Operator
This position performs skilled work in the operation of moderately complex medium to heavy construction equipment. The work involves the safe and skilled operating, servicing, and minor maintenance of equipment for transporting personnel and materials and may involve operating components of significant complexity or capacity. Work also involves the performance of manual tasks. Supervision may be exercised over semi-skilled workers. An individual in this position is required to be on-call on a rotating basis. This position reports to the Construction or Maintenance Foreman. High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and three years of experience operating automotive and construction equipment is preferred. Must possess a valid State of Georgia driver’s license, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and a valid State of Georgia Class “A” CDL ( Commercial Driver’s License). Possession of Manual Transmission Endorsement preferred or be able to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a Confined Space certificate, Department of Transportation Flagger certificate, and Trench Excavation certificate.
