Vice President - Finance and Administration

Job Summary

This position, reporting to the institution's President, functions as the Chief Business Officer (CBO) and as a senior member of the executive leadership team.


• Directs the college’s fiscal affairs, budget, procurement, campus safety, auxiliary services, and facilities operations

• Serves as a principal financial adviser to the President on policy decisions

• Serves on the institution's senior leadership team, Executive Cabinet and chairs the Resource Committee

• Coordinates and oversees the design and construction of new facilities

• Prepares regular budget reports and provides them to the President, college budget managers and the USG Board of Regents

• Oversees the development of the college's annual budget and, in partnership with the President, presents the final version to the USG Chancellor and Vice Chancellors

• Plans and oversees the renovation of college facilities

• Provides for the proper maintenance and security of the physical assets of the college, to include proper insurance coverage and inventory systems

• Exercises fiscal responsibility in the management of all allocated resources

• Maintains custody and control of the college’s funds and investments

• Helps to develop and administer a transparent divisional and college-wide budget process in conjunction with college goals and objectives

• Provides leadership in the planning and implementation of the organizational structure, job descriptions, recruitment, evaluation, and professional development of divisional employees

• Administers special projects

• Provides leadership for strategic planning and assessment activities

• Maintains records of all contracts and leases; compiles cost analyses; supervises the preparation of business and financial statistical reports

• Maintains proper books of accounts setting forth the financial condition and transactions of the college; supervises all accounts maintained by the college which deal with the receipt and disbursement of funds

• Installs and provides administrative direction for all accounting procedures, including the preparation of financial reports and internal auditing procedures

• Monitors all accounts, claims, and demands against the college to ensure that any money drawn from college accounts for payment is correct and legally available

• Serves as liaison to the University System of Georgia system office and other campuses, as needed, on all fiscal, budgetary, and physical plan matters

• Performs related duties

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in related field with four - eight years of experience; or an equivalent combination of expereince and education.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience and education.
