Building Maintenance Technician (2 Positions)

Job Summary

This position performs technical duties in the maintenance and repair of campus/instructional site buildings. An incumbent in this position may be designated "Senior Building Maintenance Technician."

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains building HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Performs roof repair, building and room remodeling, and other carpentry duties
  • Completes work orders and associated paperwork
  • Cleans gutters
  • Paints building interiors and exteriors
  • Moves office furniture and hangs pictures
  • Installs parking lot signs and street bumpers
  • This role may be designed by the institution as a Position of Trust, and managers will inform employees if this designation pertains to them
  • Performs related duties

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with relative experience.
