After School Counselor
JOB SUMMARY Under the general direction of the Coordinator, the Afterschool Counselor position will assist in the implementation of activities throughout the duration of the program including arts & crafts, inside & outside games, enrichment and any other activities related to youth development. Assists in the supervision of afterschool participants throughout the duration of all program activities. May be required to assist with other general Parks and Recreation duties assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Must be 16 years of age KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires certification in CPR and First Aid (city-sponsored). A valid Georgia Driver’s License is preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORK ENVIRONMENT This work is performed both indoors and outdoors, depending on the scheduled activities.
The position involves various physical movements, including lifting, standing, bending, and other actions necessary to support children in both indoor and outdoor games and activities.
