Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision serves as working-level procurement/sourcing specialist. Provides professional-level category support in a variety of procurement activities. Participates in on-going category and vendor performance management. The position is typically responsible for purchasing activities in a small agency. Other duties as assigned such as postage processing, mail room responsibilities and loading dock coverage. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.

Essential Functions, include but are not limited to:
·         Purchase supplies, equipment, or services necessary for the operation of an agency, region, district or state.
·         Develops or assist in the development of documents such as Request for Quotes (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs).
·         Participates in the vendor response evaluation process. Develops financial and technical evaluation documents. Analyzes vendor responses. May support the strategic sourcing teams in more complex solicitations.
 
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in accounting or business, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university; or Technical diploma in accounting or business and one (1) year job-related experience in a procurement environment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Procurement Agent Trainee (FEP019) or Procurement Technician (FET112) or equivalent position. Note: Some positions require Georgia Procurement Manual area specific certification(s).
 
Preferred Job-Related Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Sute. Effective oral and written communication skills. Experience in supporting management.
 
Work Conditions & Physical Demands: General Office Environment.
 
Remote Work:***Employees authorized for remote/hybrid work must reside and perform their job duties exclusively within the state of Georgia. Remote/hybrid work arrangements outside the state are not permitted under current policy.
 
Salary Information: $46,632.33 Annually / Pay Grade I
*** Current state employees’ salary will be subject to State Personnel Board rule provisions. You may qualify for a higher salary based on your current pay grade and the pay grade of the position. If you have questions regarding salary, please do not hesitate to contact HR***
