Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, supports Emergency Preparedness initiatives in a Public Health District. Support the overall integration of area hospitals and other community responders in preparing for, and responding to, Bioterrorism and other emergency events. Support the integration of local Public Health emergency preparedness efforts with those within relevant Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) area(s). Provide technical assistance to state and local responders in the District in preparing for and responding to Bioterrorism and other emergency events. Support the communication of Emergency Preparedness information to appropriate agencies and the general public. Coordinates disaster response or crisis management activities provides disaster preparedness training and prepares emergency plans and procedures. Supervises other staff within the Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response.This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.
 
Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):
·         Assist with the ordering, warehousing, and distribution of PPE to our clinics, PODs, and partners.
·         Be the point of contact for the district in all matters relating to the new state FAMIS360 Inventory Management System (IMS).
·         Inspect, maintain, and service, all EPR equipment on assigned schedules to assure emergency deployment readiness.
 
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in emergency management; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Emergency Mgt Spec 1 (PSP070) or position equivalent.
                       
Preferred Qualifications (include, but are not limited to): 
·         Knowledge or background in emergency response and incident command structure.
·         Two (2) years' experience writing, reviewing and administering Emergency Operations Plans. Documented experience or training in NIMS/CBRNE environments. 
·         Knowledge of Georgia Public Health Response Plans.
 
Work Conditions & Physical DemandsGeneral office environment. Able to work in harsh environments for extended periods of time during emergency deployments. Occasional training activities may require lifting and working outdoors. Some travel is required.
 
Salary Information: $46,632.33 Annually | Paygrade I

Remote Work: – Employees authorized for remote/hybrid work must reside and perform their job duties exclusively within the state of Georgia. Remote/hybrid work arrangements outside the state are not permitted under current policy.
